As Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega convened the last cabinet meeting of his term 2019-2022 as the Governor of the Province of La Union, Department and Unit Heads and Chiefs of Hospital warmly welcomed Gov. Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David on June 30, 2022 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Gov. Pacoy officially introduced the new Governor to the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) Cabinet and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all Department and Unit Heads and Chiefs of Hospital saying, "I would have not done what I was able to do without each one of you and our PGLU employees... I'm just here, I'll see you around."
In her message, Gov. Rafy congratulated the previous administration for all accomplishments from 2016-2022. She also ensured the cabinet that she is serious in rendering her work for the public and expects the same from the body, "Let's help each other more... because we have one goal and that is to give better life to our kaprobinsiaan."
Presented during the meeting were the major accomplishments of the different PGLU departments and hospitals through the Sectors of Financial Stability, Economic Dynamism, Resilient Communities, and Organizational Accountability and Governance in the past six years. Provincial Administrator Agnes Grace Cargamento also presented how the PGLU grew as an organization during Gov. Pacoy's term. The CoViD-19 and Vaccination updates in the Province of La Union were also discussed.
Finally, a tribute to retiring Department Heads Dr. Nida N. Gapuz, Provincial Veterinarian and Col. Ramon F. Laudencia, Provincial Agriculturist was also given in recognition of their efforts in the betterment of lives of the people.
With the new administration for the year 2022-2025, the PGLU continues to improve its public service and uphold transformative governance through unity in the province.
