In line with the National Governmentโ€™s goal of making the country's public transportation system efficient and environmentally friendly, 22 units of Modernized Public Utility Vehicles (MPUV) were launched and shall begin to operate serving commuters bound to City of San Fernando to Naguilian, La Union, vice versa.

This happened on April 19, 2022 at LUTRAMPCO Grounds, Bacuit Norte, Bauang, La Union.

LUTRAMPCO Chairperson Dr. Pio M. Soriano expressed his gratitude to the government agencies and the Provincial Government of La Union for their consistent support to the public transportation cooperatives in providing steady source of livelihood for drivers while ensuring a reliable, efficient and safe means of transportation for the public through the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program.

The 22 units of 22-seater modernized jeepneys are just the initial batch of the targeted 35 units to be deployed in the roads of La Union to be driven by public transportation cooperative members who are mostly jeepney, bus and truck drivers.
