Truck Carrying Pebbles from Bangar Barred due to Illegal Transportation

Representatives from the Provincial Government of La Union - Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) together with San Fernando City Police Station flagged down a truck transporting sacks of pebbles without necessary permit on April 5, 2022 around 9:10 PM at Brgy. Lingsat, City of San Fernando, La Union.
A total of 1,300 sacks of pebbles weighing 20 kg each owned by a resident of Barangay Paratong, Bangar, La Union was confiscated and now under the custody of the Provincial Government of La Union and San Fernando City Police Station. The said illegal transport of pebbles is considered a violation of Section 110 of RA 7942 or the Philippine Mining Act of 1995 and Batas Pambansa Blg. 265 or An Act Prohibiting the Extraction of Gravel and Sand from Beaches and Providing Penalties Therefor. Confiscation proceeding regarding the seized items is scheduled on April 18, 2022 at the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. 1.
