PGLU, LGUs Forge Ties for more Efficient Financial Plans for the Province

As part of the continuous effort to achieve an efficient and effective collaboration with our partner Local Government Units through their respective Local Budget Officers, the Provincial Budget Office conducted the Local Budget Officers meeting on March 21, 2022 at the Bids and Awards Committee Conference Room, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The activity intended to discuss critical matters in steering the component Local Government Units of the Province’s efficiency in executing its Financial Plans. Provincial Budget Officer, Ms. Catherine E. Franco, with the Local Budget Officers, discussed and reiterated the guidelines in their budget preparation, execution and accountability. Likewise, the participants had an in depth discussion of the Local Budget Memorandum 83 and 84 concerning the release and utilization of the FY 2018 and 2019 shares of each Local Government Units for RA 7171 and RA 8240.
With the unwavering support of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, the respective barangays of each Local Government Unit was given an additional aid amounting to P18,000.00 from the annual P2,000.00, hence, the Provincial Budget Officer with the Local Budget Officers talked through the basic principles of barangay budgeting. The Local Budget Officers also agreed to conduct regular meetings to maintain efficient and effective collaboration with partner LGUs.
The PGLU is looking forward for more collaborations with the LGU partners in achieving a more proficient and stronger La Union.
