As part of their commitment to strengthen the delivery of employment facilitation services to the people of La Union, representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment โ La Union Field Office (DOLE โ LUFO) together with the 25 Public Employment Service Office (PESO) La Union managers and staff convene for the 1st Quarterly La Union PESO Federation meeting on March 24, 2022 at UVAS Cafรฉ, Urayong, Bauang, La Union.
Mayor Menchie L. De Guzman of Bauang, La Union gave her inspirational message during the meeting. In her message, she emphasized the importance of serving the public with love, โKailangan kasi when we get to serve, the love, the passion should be there, it's not just an obligation, nandun ang dedication, nandun ang commitment, nandun yung pagmamahal, and of course, the passion to serveโ, she said.
DOLE-LUFO Provincial Head, Ms. Veronica A. Corsino, gave special citation awards to Provincial PESO together with the Municipal PESOs of Bauang, Naguilian, San Gabriel, San Juan, Santol and the San Fernando City PESO, for the timely and complete submission of PESO SPRS Reports for CY 2021.
Further, Ms. Darbie Ann R. Fernandez of DOLE-LUFO, presented the Annual PESO Performance Report for CY 2021. In her report, 16,292 jobseekers in La Union were given employment while 474 students were employed to the different Local Government Units and private establishments through the Special Program for the Education of Students. DOLE has also provided assistance to 1,753 beneficiaries of the program DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program and 12,613 beneficiaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers beneficiaries.
Provincial PESO Manager Charito C. Dator encourages the La Union PESO Managers to fortify their role in the promotion & implementation of various DOLE programs and services contributory to the attainment of targets in the employment program facilitation for our kaprobinsiaan.
