La Union Health Summit 2021 Held

Simultaneous with our CoViD-19 operations and our continuous and cohesive fight to defeat the pandemic, we held the La Union Health Summit 2021 to acknowledge our dear health workers and health institutions for their relentless sacrifices for the all kaprobinsiaan on September 24, 2021 in the open areas of Pugad Adventure Resorts , Pugo, La Union with limited participants only.

Recognizing their resiliency, flexibility, commitment, services, and unwavering efforts to the programs and aspirations of the Provincial Government of La Union in this time of pandemic, awardees were frontliners and institutions from both public and private sectors who served as our soldiers in this fight.

Guided by the theme, “Enhancing La Union's Integrated Health Service Delivery - a Core Strategy for Stronger La Union,” we recognized CoViD-19 Isolation Hospitals including the District Hospitals of Naguilian, Balaoan and Rosario; La Union Medical Center; Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center; Lorma Hospital; Bethany Hospital and La Union Medical Diagnostic Center and Hospital, Inc. for handling CoViD-19 patients. We also gave recognit to Non-covid district hospitals namely Bacnotan District hospital and Caba District hospital.

Working hand in hand with us, we have also recognized the 20 Local Government Units (LGUs) of La Union for opening their own LGU Ligtas CoViD-19 Centers with Agoo Municipal Health Office receiving a special recognition award for their Agoo Ligtas CoViD-19 Isolation Center, DOH and Philhealth accredited.

Also, we have recognized our selfless public and private partners such as the DOH CHD 1, ITRMC, Agoo Family Hospital, Philippine Business for Social Progress, Thunderbird Resort, DMMMSU, Department of Science and Technology RO 1, and Saint Louis College for their continued support and services offered in this times of crisis.

Lastly, we gave Special Recognition Award to DRRM-H Czar of La Union Dr. Marvin F. Munar, MD, MDM, FPAFP DRRM-H Manager/lncident Commander, ITRMC and another Special Recognition Award to Provincial Health Team Leader of La Union Dr. Ronia A. Aragon, MD, MPH Provincial Health Team Leader DOH-CHDI.

Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III lauded the dedication and passion of the awardees and expressed, “While there is no award that will ever compensate the commitment and passion that you have rendered in service, may this activity speak of our appreciation for your continued dedication in preserving the wellbeing of our constituents."

We have also expressed our gratitude to our 10 most outstanding Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Nutrition Scholars in the province by awarding them Certificates of Recognition and cash incentives.

As we continuously battle the CoViD-19 pandemic as one kaprobinsiaan, we also continue to support our frontliners through activities such as this and by following the minimum health standards. With each of us contributing to this fight, we will soon open a better tomorrow.
