A snappy salute as we now look forward to an even more peaceful and orderly province following the donning and oath taking ceremony of Gov. Pacoy Ortega as Commodore of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Auxiliary - Executive Squadron yesterday, August 20, 2021.
Vowing to dedicate his best effort to uphold maritime operations, Commodore Pacoy Ortega took oath before PCG Commandant ADM GEORGE V URSABIA JR. and received a one-star badge at the Headquarters Coast Guard District North Western Luzon.
Full of fervor, Commodore Pacoy Ortega readily accepted the challenge to carry out the PGC's mission to promote safety of life and property at sea including the marine environment, and to support the conduct of water search and rescue operations.
Commodore Pacoy Ortega expressed, “Today, I was donned, I took oath and my duty as a member of the PCG Executive Squadron commences. Being one of you, I wholeheartedly aspire for peace and unity. May we all be guided with patriotism, compassion, bravery, dedication and hard work for us to stand ready in all the extraordinary circumstances that will come our way.”
The ceremony cements the strong partnership of the Provincial Government of La Union and the uniformed personnel to uphold peace and order in the province as Commodore Pacoy Ortega emphasized, "As you all know, I am a public servant. As the Governor of the Province of La Union, this momentous event speaks of our shared aspirations and commitment to achieve our goals in preserving peace, order and security in the province and in our country most especially in our coasts."
We can recall that Gov. Pacoy is also currently a Lieutenant Colonel of the Philippine Army Reserve Force and a Scout Ranger Honorary Member ensuring the preservation of the safety and security of kaprobinsiaan.
