Monsoon-Affected Kaprobinsiaan Receive PGLU Food Packs, Monitoring LGUs Continues

Upon the directive of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), delivered a total of 2,290 food packs to the Municipalities of Bacnotan, San Gabriel, and Luna on July 25 and 26, 2021 to augment their relief operations to affected families of the Southwest Monsoon Rains.

The Municipality of Bacnotan received 1,000 food packs while Mayor Herminigildo Velasco of the Municipality of San Gabriel led the receiving of 750 food packs.

Meanwhile, the Municipality of Luna has started distributing the 1,240 food packs to their affected constituents where 740 additional packs from the 500 initial relief packs were turned over to the municipality.

On July 25, 2021, First District Board Member Gary N. Pinzon and Second District Board Member Frank O. Sibuma together with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) also ensured that help in manpower and equipment is available and provided to the Municipality of Aringay DRRMO in their rescue operation.

BM Pinzon have also visited the Municipalities of Bacnotan, San Gabriel and Bauang to check their situation and to take note of their needs.

The PGLU is a steadfast enabler for all its component local government units to ensure collaborative efforts in building a #StrongerLaUnion, a province worth living in.
