Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โ€œPacoyโ€ R. Ortega III called for inter-office coordination among the different offices of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) to address the needs of the vulnerable sectors in La Union during the Hybrid Cabinet Meeting on July 6, 2021.

Following the report of Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Ranilo Ipac on the Resilient Communities Sector, Gov. Pacoy underscored the need to maintain coordination among offices and assured the offices of his full support, โ€œWe will help you, support you, the best way we can without sacrificing the right processes,โ€ he said. He also reiterated to the Cabinet Members that their Programs, Projects and Activities need to address pressing concerns of the province.

In the meeting, the Safety Seal Certification Program Initial Assessment of the PGLU as of July 5, 2021 was reported by Acting Provincial General Services Officer Arvin Camacho wherein out of the 16 items in the checklist, the organization has already complied with 10 items and is working for five more items. One item in the checklist is not-applicable for PGLU.

Provincial Administrator Agnes Grace Cargamento reported updates on PGLUโ€™s alternative work arrangement and accomplishment report submission of the offices. She highlighted the PGLU Health Protocol and Guidelines and the provision of assistance to employees who contacted CoViD-19.

Provincial Budget Officer Catherine Franco reported the efficiency rate of the PGLU and revenue collection which reflects that in the Statement of Income and Expenditures, Accounts Payable, 76% are already paid while 24% are for payment.

District Hospital and La Union Medical Center (LUMC) Chiefs of Hospital and OICs including Dr. Zenserly Pagaduan of Bacnotan District Hospital; Dr. Eduardo Posadas of Naguilian District Hospital; Dr. Mark Anthony Tomboc of Balaoan District Hospital; Dr. Gretchen Aromin of Caba District Hospital; Dr. Rodolfo Tongson of Rosario District Hospital and Dr. Glenn Ernest Fonbuena of LUMC presented the financial report of their respective hospitals. For the month of June 2021, the five District Hospitals and LUMC catered to 19,973 patients with customer satisfaction rates ranging from 93% to 99.90%, which are beyond target. The hospitals have as well vaccinated 2,697 constituents, catered to 72 CoViD-19 positive patients and swabbed 971 constituents.

The different PGLU Governance Sectors including the Financial Stability Sector; Economic Dynamism and Competitiveness Sector; Resilient Communities Sector; and Organizational Accountability and Governance Sector presented their accomplishments. Other offices who reported their specific accomplishments were La Union Provincial Tourism Office; Local Economic Enterprise and Investment Promotions Unit; Office of the Provincial Agriculturist; Office of the Provincial Veterinarian; and Provincial Engineering Office.

โ€œLet us continue with our habit of measuring our performance, reporting on them to strengthen ownership, and working on them to improve our numbers,โ€ said Gov. Pacoy.
