PGLU as one with TESDA Livelihood Projects

The Provincial Government of La Union strengthened its ties with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) La Union Provincial Office as it joined the distribution of starter kits to 45 TESDA scholar graduates of Santol, La Union on February 4, 2021 at Santol Covered Court, Barangay Pagaan, Santol, La Union under the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) program.

The awarding ceremony was attended by Deputy Director General (DDG) for Communities and Local Government Units, Gabriel Luis R. Quisimbing; Regional Director Vincent Aljon A. Cifra; Provincial Director Elpidio D. Mamaril, Jr.; Santol Mayor Magno A. Wailan; and Provincial PESO Manager Charito C. Dator representing Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III.

25 TESDA Beneficiaries underwent skills training on Basic Installation and Maintenance of Solar Powered Lighting System and 20 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries for Cake Making (leading to Bread & Pastry Production NC II) receiving training certificates. All 45 scholars received their starter kits after training.

Through the TESDA scholarship programs, resident scholars from the different barangays in Santol, La Union, benefited from the training in line with the Barangay Development Program Implementation for the Province of La Union.

PRLEC program addresses the initial priority development needs of far-flung communities and hard to reach barangays by bringing government programs and services closer to them.

The Provincial Government of La Union together with TESDA, Local Government Units (LGUs), and partners from private organizations continues to work harder to provide a sustainable and responsive development programs for community improvements with the aid of the PRLEC program of the national government.
