EMPLOYMENT CONDITION OF WORKERS IN LU TOURISM SECTOR CHECKED

With the aim to gather data for the creation of assistance and policy responses related to employment, Provincial Public Employment Service Office Staff gathers data on the employment condition of workforce from the different tourism-related establishments in the City of San Fernando, La Union on January 27 and 29, 2021. The same activity was conducted to 21 tourism-related establishments in San Juan, La Union on January 26, 2021.

To gather data for the creation of assistance and policy responses related to employment in support for the tourism sector, representatives from the La Union Public Employment Service Office (PESO) conducted a three day visit to collect employment information about the existing manpower and operational status of the different tourism-related establishments operating in the City of San Fernando on January 27 and 29, 2021 and in the Municipality of San Juan, La Union on January 26, 2021.

The team joined by PESO Manager Mr. Roderic Gacayan of the City of San Fernando, visited 23 hotels, restaurants, resorts and conducted quantitative assessments of the number of employed workers affected in the tourism-related sector. They also provided brief orientation about occupational safety and health standards to managers and staff of the establishments.

Meanwhile, provincial PESO staff Leticia H. Torres and Sandra L. Ysip collected data from 21 tourism-establishments in the Municipality of San Juan, La Union.

The Provincial Government of La Union through the PESO in partnership with the Municipal PESOs and Tourism Offices continue to conduct the updating of data on employment condition of workers in the different tourism-related establishments operating in the 20 component Local Government Units in the Province of La Union.
