PGLU Assists PESO-Bacnotan Digitalization, Employment Facilitation

As a part of the upgrading of the operations of Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in Bacnotan, La Union, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Public Employment Service Unit provided technical assistance by installing the Manpower Skills Registry System on October 14, 2020.

After installing the system, Labor and Employment Officer II Rowell B. Timoteo also conducted a brief orientation on the facilitation of registration using the Online La Union Employment Survey and PESO Information System.

Through the various employment assistance system installed and introduced, the PESO in the locality will be able to develop future strategies to address challenges caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic and improve local labor and employment situation by providing a better delivery of employment facilitation services to jobseekers and clients with the help of technology.

The activity is another step forward as four new desktop units donated by the Department of Information and Communications Technology to the PESO of the Municipality of Bacnotan headed by PESO Manager Ms. Divina C. Fontanilla has been put to good use.

In several occasions, Gov. Pacoy Ortega has expressed PGLU’s readiness to support innovation in employment facilitation and policies for recovery using digital tools and technology among its Local Government Units.
