SP OKs ‘PGLU Family Choir’ as official choir of PGLU

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of the Province of La Union during its 34th Regular Session approved SP Ordinance No. 228-2020 recognizing the PGLU Family Choir as the official choir of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) on February 18, 2020.
SP Member Gerard G. Ostrea, the principal author of the ordinance, said that the “PGLU Family Choir” is envisioned to give its audience the best glimpse of what La Union can offer to both local and international visitors, to promote music and develop the culture of appreciation of the art and science of music through presentations to the public.
He emphasizes the important role of the “PGLU Family Choir,” which shall carry the name of PGLU in all official and public gatherings hosted or initiated by the same.
He further explained that in the pursuit of the province to become the “Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025,” it is all-important that it shall not only exhibit the natural beauty of the province but also the best talents of its human resources.
The said chorale group is composed of PGLU employees from different departments. They are Darlene Joy Acosta of La Union Provincial Tourism Office (LUPTO); Carmelita P. Teaño of Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP); Graciel G. Balcita of Provincial General Services Office (PGSO); Jennifer P. Ordinario of Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO); Rina Joy F. Andrada of PTO; Kim Han Piell P. Carmelo of Office of the Provincial Administrator (OPA); Jonalyn L. Balagot of PGSO; Alby S. Ochoco of PTO; Dan Emmanuelle V. Lucero of PTO; John Leandro N. Yaranon of LUPTO; Rhea L. Ambatali of PTO; Frenzilyn A. Mamaril of PTO; Junalyn Ricardel of Office of the Provincial Governor (OPG); Ma. Ashley A.
