Naguilian District Hospital (NDH) employees participated in the three-day Basic Life Support (BLS) training on October 2-4, 2019 at the NDH, Naguilian, La Union.

Said training was conducted by the trainors from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The employees were trained on how to properly conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation, basic first aid, and Heimlich maneuver - a first-aid procedure for dislodging an obstruction from a person's windpipe.

BLS is a fundamental skill in saving lives requiring a broad knowledge of cognitive and psychomotor skills. As medical healthcare service providers, it is essential that the staff and employees of NDH are required to be certified in basic emergency medical care.
