PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT TRAINING FOR CRISES EMERGENCIES, DISASTERS CONDUCTED

Prioritizing the commitment of the Provincial Government of La Union to have a “Disaster Resilient La Union by 2022,” the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) conducted the Psychosocial Support Training during Crises Emergencies and Disasters at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City on July 23-26, 2019.
It was participated in by 80 Provincial/City/Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council or Committee Members. The objectives of this training were to provide Psychosocial Support and Capacitate the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council members in the Province of La Union, and to promote and strengthen camaraderie among the council members.
The training was made up of five modules namely Stories and Vulnerabilities amidst Disaster; Rights Based-Approach in Emergency Situations; Psychological First Aid; Psychological Processing; and Stress Management and Resilience.
After the training, it is expected that participants should be able to manage well the Disaster Preparedness and Risk Management for improved Competitiveness and Quality of Life.
