The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) spearheaded the Camp Coordination and Camp Management Training and Workshop for the Enhancement of Reporting System Training on July 9-12, 2019 at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City.

It was participated in by 70 Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC) members and representatives from other emergency response units in La Union.

The training aims to equip barangay officials with essential knowledge on family evacuation preparedness, camp coordination and camp management (CCCM) to fulfil their functions in providing assistance to the community during emergency situations. It also aims to share and transfer knowledge on CCCM to other personnel as part of preparation and for deployment and to enhance their capability on the standard reporting system.

To ensure better information management in emergency situations, participants learned how to properly fill out Barangay Disaster Reporting Forms and how to accomplish Situational Reports.

PSWDO Ranilo Ipac talked about Child Protection in Emergencies and highlighted the need to protect the vulnerable sectors as a whole during emergency situations.

After the training, it is expected that BDRRMC members would be more efficient in managing evacuation centers and in accomplishing reports.
