La Union Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III was elected as the chair of the Multi-Sector Advisory Board (MSAB) of the First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR) of the Philippine Army, during the board’s launching on July 4, 2019 at Camp Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan.
The MSAB serves as FSRR’s partner to advance and institutionalize performance excellence and good governance within the regiment.
As chair, Gov. Pacoy shall lead the MSAB in providing advisory services to the regiment, which include assessment of its programs, recommendation of relevant policies, and assistance in securing partnership with key stakeholders.
Gov. Pacoy’s election comes after his attendance to the meeting with FSRR’s key officers, led by Armed Forces of the Philippines BGEN WILLIAM N GONZALES, FSRR Commander.
The creation of the board is part of the FSRR’s institutionalization of the Scout Ranger Transformation Roadmap, which aims to develop professional and highly capable Scout Ranger Forces committed to the mandate of protecting the people and the state.
As the first chair of the newly-launched MSAB, Gov. Pacoy is keen in contributing to the realization of the Philippine Army’s vision of becoming a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028.
