La Union Vibrant Women, Inc. Welcomes New BOD Chair

NEW LUVWI CHAIR. The La Union Vibrant Women, Inc. (LUVWI) welcomes new Board of Directors (BOD) Chairperson Vini Nola A. Ortega during the LUVWI Meeting on June 10, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. In her message, Chairperson Vini committed to continue all programs of LUVWI and come up with new projects for the benefit of all women in La Union.
The La Union Vibrant Women, Inc. (LUVWI) turned over the chairmanship of its Board of Directors (BOD) from outgoing Chairperson Geraldine "Deny" Ortega to the new Chairperson Vini Nola A. Ortega during the LUVWI Meeting on June 10, 2019 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
It is stated in the Constitution and By-Laws of the organization that the female Local Chief Executive (LCE) of the province will be the BOD Chairperson. In cases where the LCE is a male, his wife will take the position.
In her message, outgoing BOD Chairman Deny encouraged all LUVWI members to continue in giving their support to the programs and projects of the LUVWI and the Provincial Government of La Union as well as to continue their devotion to Mary. She also assured the members that she will continue to support all programs and projects of the organization.
New BOD Chairperson Vini committed to continue all the programs and projects started by LUVWI. She also assured that more programs will be incorporated for the benefit all women in La Union.
A video presentation of the accomplishments of LUVWI was shown in the meeting. LUVWI Provincial President Ms. Ruth Jo de Guzman gave her President’s Report highlighting the organization’s most recent activity, the Prayer Rally for a Peaceful Election. While LUVWI Provincial Treasurer Ms. Judy So also reported about financial matters.
LUVWI was established in 2005 during the Provincial Women’s Congress and was then called La Union Volunteer, Inc. founded by former City of San Fernando Mayor Mary Jane C. Ortega. In 2007, under the administration of Gov. Manuel C. Ortega, Chair Deny became the Chairperson and extended her chairmanship until the first term of Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III since his wife Ms. Vini was then the ABONO Party-list Representative.
