La Union hosts KALIPI Region 1 Conference

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) collaborated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) to host the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) Region 1 Conference and project on-site visit on May 29 – 31, 2019 at the La Union Technology and Livelihood Development Center, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) collaborated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) to host the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) Region 1 Conference and project on-site visit on May 29 – 31, 2019 at the La Union Technology and Livelihood Development Center, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The activity aims to empower the members of their roles in nation building. The participants were also updated on the different programs of the DSWD. The event was attended by the Regional KALIPI Officers from the 9 cities and 4 provinces of Region 1.
On the 2nd day of the conference, the participants experienced on-site visits to some income-generating projects of the KALIPI - City of San Fernando like the Ube Wine Making in Barangay Langcuas and the Lemon Grass Tea Making in Barangay Pagdalagan, both in the City of San Fernando, La Union.
The participants were given samples of the finished products to promote the products to other local government units in the region.
The PGLU has recently hosted the conduct of Skills Training on Longanisa Making for the KALIPI La Union members and it is always supportive of the various programs and projects of the women sector in the province.
