PESO Supports PWDs Training

To capacitate representatives of the Person with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), Public Employment Service Office (PESO) La Union provided institutional support to a training on Appropriate Paper-Based (APT) – Paper Crafting for Business held on April 22 - 25, 2019 at Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center I, Dagupan City, Pangasinan.
The training was organized by the National Council for Disability Affairs (NCDA) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Waste paper crafting can be replicated in the locality to provide employment and livelihood opportunities to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and their families. The participants were also provided knowledge on the concepts of financial literacy and fundamental marketing strategies to ensure viability of the project that will be implemented.
The PWD participants from La Union were Ms. Mariquetta Palaroan, orthopedically handicapped; Mr. Allan Cabanban and Ms. Maezie Palabay, both deaf and mute; Ms. Yoly Locaberte, interpreter; and La Union PESO Manager, Ms. Charito C. Dator.
