Fight against Hemophilia CDH

FIGHT AGAINST HEMOPHILIA. In observance of Hemophilia Awareness Month, Caba District Hospital’s (CDH) Nurse Chenee Rose Manangan educates the patients and their watchers at the Out-Patient Department (OPD) waiting area regarding Hemophilia also known as the Bleeding Disorder, its causes, treatment and precautions during the information education campaign held at CDH, Caba, La Union on April 5, 2019.
In observance of the Hemophilia Awareness Month, Caba District Hospital (CDH) conducted an Information Education Campaign regarding Hemophilia also known as the Bleeding Disorder, its causes, treatment and precautions held at CDH Out-Patient Department (OPD) Waiting Area, Caba, La Union on April 5, 2019.
Health Education Promotion Officer and Nurse, Chenee Rose Manangan led this activity by imparting her knowledge regarding this disorder. She said that hemophilia is a hereditary condition that prevents the blood from clotting after an injury leading the sufferer to bleed on and on. This disorder is common to men and affects people in their younger years.
Ms. Manangan also enumerated the treatment and precaution which include replacement therapy, injection of man-made hormone called desmopressin and antifibrinolytic medicines.
Complete Blood Count Test, free of charge, was also done to the first 10 male patients registered in the OPD unit. Patients and their watchers at the OPD Waiting Area participated in the activity.
CDH Information Education Campaign Program is a regular activity of the hospital which aims to promote awareness, emphasize that prevention is better than cure, and to achieve Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III’s Mission to be a Healthy La Union and Happy La Union by 2022.
