TWINS AND MULTIPLE BIRTHS DAY CELEBRATED IN LA UNION

A HEART FOR TWINS. Gov. Pacoy mingles with one pair of twins participating in the Twins and Other Multi-Births Day Celebration on March 26, 2019 at the Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union. Around 230 twins and 3 triplets from the different municipalities of La Union participated in the event.
As Resolution No. 202-2007 declares March of Every Year as La Union Twins Day, the Provincial Government of La Union through the Provincial Population Office celebrated the Twins and Multiple Births Day held on March 26, 2019 at the Capitol Grounds, Provincial Capitol, San Fernando City, La Union.
This activity which aims to attain significant results through discussions, dialogue, and socialization among the twins and concerned government personnel, was graced by Hon. Vini Nola A. Ortega, Abono Partylist Representative who is also a mother of twin daughters. She is joined by Dr. Josephine Ruedas, Provincial Health Officer of the Province of Ilocos Norte who represented Gov. Imee R. Marcos. Both served as Guests of Honor and Speakers.
Around 230 twins and 3 triplets from the different municipalities of La Union gathered in attendance during this special occasion that highlighted their unique and valuable significance to the province.
Part of the program were presentation of abilities and talents of different twins with engaging competitions, parlor games and raffle prizes that gave them fun and excitement in bringing out the spirit of camaraderie among other participants.
The 85 year old fraternal twins from the Municipality of Balaoan were identified as the oldest participants and the 8 month identical twins from the Municipality of Santol came as the youngest of the participants.
The program ended with the inspirational message from Gov. Francisco Emmanuel R. Ortega III who was also celebrating his birthday at the time. According to Gov. Pacoy, as a father of twins himself, he knows the struggle of raising them so he encouraged the parents to be more patient and be extra loving to their twins.
