AGE DOES NOT MATTER IN SAVING LIVES. In celebration of her 60th Birthday this March, Caba District Hospital (CDH)’s Administrative Officer, Betty S. Quezada voluntarily donates blood during the 15th Mobile Blood Donation “Alay Sagip Buhay” on March 15, 2019 at CDH, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union. The said activity was able to collect 40 units of blood.

Caba District Hospital (CDH) intensified its advocacy on voluntary blood donation through the CDH 15th Mobile Blood Donation “Alay Sagip Buhay” in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - La Union Chapter and the Provincial Health Office of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) on March 15, 2019 at CDH, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union.

A total of 44 potential blood donors registered, 21 of which were CDH employees. Out of the 44 registrants, 40 were successfully bled while the rest were deferred due to low hemoglobin and hypertension.

Chief of Hospital Dr. Gretchen F. Aromin is hoping that most of the staff and other individuals will become regular volunteer unpaid donors to guarantee sufficient supply of safe blood, sustaining its adequacy, ensuring accessibility and to meet the province blood necessities.

The said activity also intended to promote voluntary blood donation to provide sufficient supply of safe blood and inculcate public awareness that blood donation is a humanitarian act and that the blood supply relies on free and voluntary blood donations.

CDH Mobile Blood Donation Program is a quarterly activity of the hospital to augment blood supply in the province and create awareness of the importance of donating blood to save lives.
