Sagun, conducts a fire and earthquake drill, in partnership with Bacnotan Fire Station on March 13, 2019 in Bacnotan, La Union. Participants are taught to remember the acronym RACE in case of fire. R stands for Rescue that is to assist anyone in immediate danger and help get them to a safe area as fast as possible; A for Alarm or alert others by activating any available alarm system, contact fire station to report location of fire and alert on-site personnel; C for Contain or confine the fire as much as possible by closing doors and windows behind you during the evacuation; and E for Extinguish a small fire if you have the proper equipment and is safe to do so yourself. In case of an earthquake, they were also taught how to do the “Drop, Cover and Hold” to save themselves and reduce the risk of injury.
