In celebration of International Women’s Month, Caba District Hospital (CDH) conducted an Information Education Campaign at the Outpatient Department (OPD) waiting area, CDH, Poblacion Sur, Caba, La Union on March 6, 2019.

Women’s Week is a celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This is also a call to action for gender equality in the society. OPD patients listened to the CDH staff discussing various key issues affecting women like Reproductive Health awareness which was tackled by Nurse Medy A. Maglaya, Violence Against Women and their Children discussed by Social Service Officer Mary Ann O. Halog, Ear Care and Healthy Lifestyle by Health Education Promotion Officer Chenee Rose B. Manangan, and Women Empowerment by Nurse Maricar Y. Casugay.

Ms. Casugay emphasized the vital role of women in the society and their rights to signify their status in all aspects of life. She also said that women are strong agents of positive changes in the society, but real change can only be achieved when women and men work hand in hand to create a balanced environment that is empowering to both sexes. Chief of Hospital Dr. Gretchen F. Aromin led the distribution of tokens to all the women in the hospital.

Imparting knowledge to the stakeholders plays a vital role in Gov. Pacoy’s health goal of a “Healthy La Union, Happy La Union by 2022.”
