BAGULIN ALIGNS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY TO PROVINCIAL AGRI-TOURISM VISION

The Municipal Government of Bagulin strengthened its development strategy by aligning it to the La Union Agri-Tourism Vision through a Municipal Development Strategy (MDS) Workshop on December 4 and 5, 2018 at Lafaayette Suites Resort, Baccuit Norte, Bauang, La Union.
The workshop was attended by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, Mayor Ferdinand Tumbaga, together with members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Barangay Captains, Department Heads, key personnel of the local government unit and NGOs. In his speech, Gov. Pacoy expressed his appreciation to Mayor Tumbaga and the rest of LGU Bagulin for reaching out and expressing their intent in anchoring on the Province’s Agri-Tourism Vision. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of the LGU’s role in ensuring the environmental sustainability amidst the continuous tourism developments within the Municipality. Gov. Pacoy also stated that PGLU shall support the LGU through several interventions such as infrastructure development, tourism marketing, and technical assistance.
The participants underwent a series of modules and team building activities facilitated by Ms. Agnes Grace A. Cargamento, Governor’s Consultant, together with members of the Office for Provincial Strategy (OPS). Led by Mayor Tumbaga, the participants decided to focus its development strategies on its existing industrial strengths in Agriculture and Adventure.
Anchoring on the Agri-Tourism Vision, LGU Bagulin identified its new vision tagline, “By year 2020, Bagulin envisions to be a progressive and environmentally secured home of God loving and empowered citizens enjoying better quality of life.” In order for this to materialize, LGU Bagulin identified specific programs, projects, and activities which have direct impacts to the attainment of the vision.
Gov.
