RPAB APPROVES RAMUT-PUGUIL FARM-TO-MARKET ROAD IN SANTOL, LA UNION

The Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) approved the inclusion of the seven kilometer Ramut-Puguil Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) in Santol, La Union to the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) during the a meeting on November 20, 2018 at the Department of Agriculture (DA) – Regional Office 1, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The road, which is one of the projects of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), costs Php239M. 10% of the cost shall be financed by the PGLU but since the remaining funds of the PGLU are insufficient to complete the LGU counterpart, Mayor Wailan agreed to allocate funds for the Local Government Unit counterpart balance.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Engineer Engr. Elizabeth P. Sias; Project Management and Implementation Unit Head Dr. Mauro A. Libatique; Municipal Mayor of Santol, La Union Hon. Magno A. Wailan; and representatives from I-Build; Social and Environmental Safeguards of Regional Project Coordination Office; and Office of the Provincial Governor- Environment and Natural Resources Unit.
The feasibility study of the said project was presented to the RPAB by Engr. Sias along with the Provincial Engineering Office technical staff. The RPAB is composed of Regional Directors of the DA, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
The bidding of the project shall proceed once the necessary requirements and paperwork are completed.
