The Information and Communications Technology (ICTD) gathered all offices and district hospitals for the presentation of the Information Systems Strategic Plan (ISSP) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policies and Procedures on July 26, 2018 at the Diego Silang Hall, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The ISSP presents the overall strategic plan for the development and implementation of the ICT related innovations for the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU). It primarily aims to establish a rational framework for the development, acquisition of Information Technology resources in the pursuit of the province’s vision, mission, goals and objectives and to formulate the information systems and its structure that will support the framework plan and action.
There is also a desire to harness ICT to help the offices optimize the documentation, organization, and dissemination of knowledge and experience through institutionalizing a provincial knowledge management system. Thus, the ICTD tapped consultants to help the PGLU draft the ISSP and ICT policies and procedures.
Mr. Rene B. Sanapo, Ms. Loida A. Antonio and Atty. Mario Dennis A. Calvo, from the City Government of Cebu, tackled on the different phases for the ISSP Creation. Some of the topics included the Proposed Information Systems (IS) for all offices, Required ICT Equipment and Proposed Organizational Structure of the ICTD. The scope and coverage of the IS shall manifest how the ICTD shall prioritize their generation in accordance to the PGLU’s mandates and vision since the ISSP shall be executed from 2019 to 2021.
