OFW LEADERS UNDERGO PUBLIC SPEAKING ENHANCEMENT

Public Employment Service Office – La Union Manager Ms. Charito C. Dator (1st row, middle) joins the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration - Regional Welfare Office I and the Overseas Filipino Workers Family Circle Leaders of the different municipalities of La Union pose for a photo ops after the Public Speaking Enhancement Training held on July 5 – 6, 2018 at the 3rd Floor, La Union Provincial Administrative Commercial (LUPAC) Bldg., Quezon Ave., City of San Fernando, La Union.

The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLLU), through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration - Regional Welfare Office I (OWWA – RO1), conducted a Public Speaking Training for Overseas Filipino Workers Family Circle (OFC) Leaders on July 5-6, 2018 at the 3rd Floor, La Union Provincial Administrative Commercial (LUPAC) Bldg., Quezon Ave., City of San Fernando, La Union.

Said training, which assessed the Personality Profile of OFC Leaders and their Speaking Styles, was a two–day activity that was participated in by OFC Leaders coming from the different municipalities of La Union. Also present in the said training were OIC - Director Mr. Gerardo C. Rimorin, OIC – Chief Programs and Services Division Ms. Loreta B. Vergara; Family Welfare Officer – La Union Mr. Kristian Paul Maglaya; Family Welfare Officer Ms. Jennifer A. Dellosa from OWWA – RO I and Provincial PESO Manager Desk Officer – La Union Ms. Charito C. Dator.

On behalf of the PGLU, Ms. Dator extended her sincere appreciation to OWWA-RO1 for conducting the training. She encouraged the OFC Leaders to maintain strong partnership with the Migrant Desk Officers of La Union for better implementation of programs and services for OFWs and family members.

Labor Communications Officer Mr. Justin Paul D. Marbella of OWWA – RO I, as the Resource Speaker of the activity, taught the OFC Leaders to develop or improve their communication and presentation skills to give them confidence in becoming good public speakers in any occasions. He also discussed key points on how to conduct successful public speaking and the importance of matching the presentation content with the audience to create effective presentation.

The Public Speaking Training was conducted to empower OFW leaders in the province as frontliners in the protection and promotion of OFWs and their families.
