SP Approves Outstanding Security Guard Award

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of the Province of La Union during its 104th regular session approved SP Ordinance 134-2018 creating the Outstanding Security Guard Award on June 28, 2018 at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Provincial Legislative Building and Session Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Reynaldo M. Mosuela, the principal author of the ordinance, said that the purpose of the award is to recognize the vital role of security guards in protecting persons, business establishments in the province as well as the maintenance of peace and order thereby making our province more conducive for growth and development.

He emphasized the important role played by security guards, having been once a security guard himself who was posted at a subdivision where the Grace Christian College is located and GMA Station.

The ordinance states that any person may nominate any security guard based on exemplary performance on duty. Nominee must be Filipino citizen; duly licensed security guard by authorities concerned; and must be assigned or posted in La Union to a person, entity or establishment whether private or public.

The search will culminate with a recognition and conferment of awards and cash incentive of ₱5,000.00 to the deserving security guard during the celebration of the Foundation Anniversary of the Province on March, 2019 and every year thereafter.
