PGLU Provides Starter Kits to ABONO Scholar-Graduates

The said ABONO Party-list scholarship program is in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Training for Work Scholarship Program.
The Provincial Government of La Union led by Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III provided Industry Starter Kits to the first batch of ABONO Party-list scholars who graduated and received their National Certification Level II (NC II) in a Commencement Exercise held on June 22, 2018 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
These starter kits were given to the scholars to serve as their initial equipment as they start to generate income from the skills they have earned from their training.
“Dagitoy blessings nga impaayda kadakami ket ipaay mi met kadakayo…” Gov. Pacoy said as he stressed to the scholars that blessings are exponential, thus he encouraged them to share their blessings to others as well. He also shared the start of his journey as former ABONO Party-list representative, which was supported by his father immediate past Gov. Manuel C. Ortega.
He said that the good relationship between PGLU and ABONO Party-list was maintained through the seat passed to his betterhalf, Cong. Vini Nola A. Ortega, who spearheaded the funding of the tuition and assessment fees of the scholars. The program was realized in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) under the Training for Work Scholarship Program and in cooperation with the different accredited assessment centers in La Union.
95 scholars graduated this batch. 15 scholars finished the Barista Course at Bauang Training Center and Services, Inc; 20 for Wellness Massage Course at the International Spiritual Material Therapeutic Massage of San Fernando City La Union; 20 for Bread and Pastry Production Course at La Union Colleges of Science and Technology, Inc; 20 for Driving Course at the La Union Tek-Bok Provider, Inc.; and 20 for Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II at the Great Provider Educational Center of Northern Luzon, Inc.
“Ito po ay para sa lahat, walang mayaman, walang mahirap,” Cong. Vini Ortega said declaring that the scholarship program is open to anyone who is willing to level-up himself. She said that the ABONO Party-list Office is open to interested applicants 18 years old and above. Senior citizens are also welcome to apply for the scholarship program.
