PGLU, ABONO EXTENDS ASSISTANCE IN CRISIS SITUATION

Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III extends the Provincial Government of La Union’s financial assistance to its beneficiaries on June 25, 2018 at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.
Gov. Francisco Emmanuel "Pacoy" R. Ortega III personally awarded financial assistance, in the form of cheques, to almost 100 beneficiaries, at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol on June 25, 2018. Said assistance is from the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) and ABONO Party-list who continuously extend financial assistance to constituents who are in crisis situation.
The provision of Assistance in Crisis Situation (AICS) is a support system of the PGLU to alleviate and temporarily restore the normal social functioning of the clientele groups through the social services particularly to the qualified needy indigent individuals and families in the province.
The assistance is an augmentation to clients in crisis situation and is freely accorded in times of sickness in the form of medical assistance and in times of death of a love-one in the form of burial assistance. It is given to them after completely complying with the required documents and after assessment of the Social Welfare Officers. The amount of assistance varies according to the assessment of client’s needs.
The PGLU through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office assists an average of 100 clients monthly with funding budget ranging from PhP500,000.00 to more than 1 Million which shows that the PGLU is providing appropriate welfare interventions for a much improved wellbeing of the people of La Union.
