Eriguel Assumes Post as New Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union formally welcomed its newest member, Hon. Erwina C. Eriguel, who took her oath of office as Ex-Officio Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan during the 96th Regular Session of the 21st SP on May 3, 2018 at the Speaker Pro Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Legislative Building and Session Hall.
Hon. Eriguel is currently the Punong Barangay of Sta. Barbara, Agoo and Vice-President of the Liga ng mga Barangay - La Union Chapter. She assumed the presidency after, Hon. Manuel Victor “Mannix” R. Ortega resigned as Barangay Captain of Barangay Canaoay, City of San Fernando and in effect resigned also as President of the Liga ng mga Barangay – San Fernando City and La Union Chapter, respectively, effective last April 30, 2018.
Gov. Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III administered the oath-taking ceremony. He was joined by Vice-Governor Aureo Augusto Q. Nisce, Second District Rep. Sandra Y. Eriguel, Agoo Mayor Stephanie Y. Eriguel, Former Congressman Eufranio Eriguel and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members.

“I will do everything to the best of my ability,” declared Honorable Eriguel in her inaugural speech as member of the 21st Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
“You are in good hands under the leadership of our Vice-Governor and we will continue to support the Liga ng mga Barangay,” assured Governor Ortega in his welcome message.
More than a hundred guests were present during the oath-taking program including Agoo Vice-Mayor Henry Balbin, Barangay Kagawad of Sta. Barbara, Agoo, Punong Barangays of Agoo as well as the Presidents of the Liga ng mga Barangay in various municipalities of La Union.
SPM Eriguel will represent the Liga ng mga Barangay in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and will continue to work as chairperson of the Committees on Component City, Municipal and Barangay Affairs and Committee on Youth and Sports Development until a new president of the Liga will be elected after the May 14, 2018 Barangay and SK elections.
