CDH Spearheads Community Outreach For Senior Citizens

CABA, La Union- Fifty six (56) Senior Citizens (SC) actively participated in the Community Outreach Program spearheaded by Caba District Hospital (CDH) on April 20, 2018 at Brgy. Liquicia, Caba, La Union.
Gretchen F. Aromin, MD, CFP, Chief of Hospital oriented the Senior Citizens on the proposed hospital brand of CDH which is focused on Care of the Elderly, in line with the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU’s) vision for Happy La Union, Healthy La Union by 2022, with the five (5) District Hospitals as Centers of H-ealthier and satisfied patients, O-utstanding and modern facilities, P-rofessional and compassionate personnel, E-quitable and inclusive services (H.O.P.E.)
Participants joined in various activities such as Information Education Campaign (IEC) tackling Myocardial Infarction, Handwashing and Shake It Off Exercise led by Chenee Rose B. Manangan, RN- Health Education Promotion Officer, Parlor games, medical and dental mission, wellness session and livelihood program activity.
From the fifty six (56) SCs, fourteen (14) benefitted from the dental services conducted by PGLU-PHO, forty eight (48) were medically consulted and provided with free medicines, sixteen (16) were therapeutically massaged by the Scholars of the ABONO Partylist, thirteen (13) participated in the Atchara livelihood project conducted by CDH Nutritionist Dietician Vladimir Piñon, and all our elderlies received an apple as part of CDH’s an Apple a Day Program sponsored by Maglaya Medical Legal Mission Inc. (MMLM).
Esteban Quiñones, 93 years old shared his thoughts with regard to the event. “Agyaman kami apo kanyayo a padak a Senior Citizen ken nang nangruna kadagiti ummay a dimmang-ay kadatayo nga isu ti nangted ti inspirasiyon maipanggep ti ikasasaad iti biag tayo a lallakay ken bakbaket,” he said.
Brgy. Liquicia, Caba, La Union is the 16th barangay to be visited by CDH for the Senior Citizen Community Outreach Program since it was launched on September 15, 2016.
