Free Education Law Approved

House Appropriations Committee Chairman and Davao’s 1st District Representative Karlo Alexei B. Nograles was welcomed by Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega II and ABONO Partylist Representative Vini Nola A. Ortega during his visit in La Union on February 2, 2018 at the Capitol, City of San Fernando, La Union.

In an interview, Davao City Congressman Karlo Nograles announces to the local media that from the national budget, the administration is allotting P40 billion for free education to be granted to every poor but deserving students in state universities and colleges (SUCs). According to him, the said assistance program will guarantee free tuition and quality education to the beneficiaries.

Moreover, Cong. Nograles also stated his commitment to the current administration’s thrust towards altering the Philippines current status quo into Federalism form of government. Hence, expresses his solid support to the thrust of President Rodrigo Duterte to alleviate the criminality and drug menace in the country.

Recently, President Duterte signed into law the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act or also known as the Republic Act 10931 which guarantees free education in state colleges and universities.

Gov. Emmanuel “Pacoy” R, Ortega III guaranteed through legislation to dedicate their efforts in realizing their advocacies and programs which is a strong thrust in sustaining the vision of La Union to become the Heart of Agri-Tourism by 2025 and is anchored towards the current administration’s transformative governance.
