La Union Provincial Development Council Convened

The La Union Provincial Development Council held its first regular meeting for the year on January 26, 2018 at Diego Silang, Provincial Capitol City of San Fernando, La Union.
The highlights of the said meeting include Approval of the La Union Transformative Sectoral Framework, Updates on the Annual Investment Programs (AIP) Performance for 2017 and 2018, and endorsement of the proposed construction of Naguilian Transport Terminal and Town Center and the construction of Mini- Hydro Power Plant.
Provincial Development Council Chairman Governor Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III stressed the province Transformative Governance Sectoral Framework which defined the path of the Provincial Government in sustaining real change and true transformation. It was then approved by the body.
“This administration is founded on a program of Transformative Governance. The change that we aspire for has been progressive as we sought to align our Province with the directives of the National Leadership,” Gov. Pacoy said.
The proposed projects of Naguilian Mayor Reynaldo J. Flores on the construction of Naguilian Transport Terminal and Town Center and construction of Naguilian Mini- Hydro Power Plant received a nod from the council and will be endorsed to the Regional Development Council (RDC).
Said meeting was graced by Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Ana Marie Banaag. Her team supported by the Philippine Information Agency Regional Office I headed by Director Jennilyne Role, invited local officials and their information officers to the 2018 National Information Communication Convention on February 19 to 21, 2018 in Davao City. With the theme Spurring Development and Empowering Communities through Information, said gathering of information officers and officials aims to strengthen partnership between private and public-sector communicators, with the goal of nurturing a well-informed and enlightened citizenry.
Also, ASec. Banaag commended Gov. Pacoy for his effective thrust in promoting programs and advocacies with a heart, highlighting the vision of his administration that is to transform “La Union as the Heart of Agri-Tourism by 2025.”
