So come and explore the enchanting falls of La Union with us in this special two-part feature!
Tangadan Falls
Tangadan Falls is a hidden treasure located in Brgy. Amontoc, San Gabriel, La Union. Its beauty lies not only in the naturally flowing cold water but also in the majestic experience of reaching it.
Visitors can reach this tourist spot after a half-hour to an hour-long trek. Along the way, enjoy the green-filled scenery before dipping into the cold, breezy waters of Tangadan Falls.
Balay Anito Falls
If you find yourself near Santol, La Union, you might want to explore its two waterfall tourist spots. The first is Balay Anito Falls, located in Sitio Banbanaba, Lettac Sur, Santol.
According to the Municipality of Santol, Balay Anito translates to “house of unseen friends or anitos.” Let yourself be mesmerized by its picturesque view — but swim with caution, as the water here is quite deep.
Simminublan Falls
After enjoying the cold waters of Balay Anito, you can head to Sitio Bilagan, Puguil, Santol, to visit Simminublan Falls. Once you arrive, you’ll notice that the falls mimic the shape of a palayok (traditional clay pot). Immerse yourself in the refreshing waters and relax in nature’s embrace.
Occalong Falls
Occalong Falls is located in Brgy. Cabalitocan, Luna, La Union. Just a short ride from Luna’s plaza, followed by a brief trek, visitors can easily access this hidden gem.
Aside from the falls, this tourist spot also offers picnic areas where you can sit, share meals, and enjoy conversations. Just remember to pick up your trash after your visit, and always observe #KalikasanNaman.
La Union, known for its agri-tourism sites, offers plenty of fun and Instagram-worthy spots, including its waterfalls. These falls showcase the province’s refreshing and astonishing beauty hidden in its scenic inland areas.
