La Union Medical Center Garners Multiple DOH Awards for Healthy Workplace Initiatives

The La Union Medical Center (LUMC) has earned prestigious recognitions for its exemplary contributions to healthcare governance and health promotion at the Region 1 Health Facility and Green Conference 2024. The event, organized by the Department of Health-Integrated Hospital Operation and Management Program (DOH-IHOMP) at the Plaza Del Norte Hotel in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
During the ceremony, LUMC received multiple accolades that underscore its commitment to excellence in healthcare service and governance. Among the awards was the IHOMP-Best Practice for Governance Award, which highlights the institution’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and efficient management. This recognition positions LUMC as a model for healthcare governance in the region.
The hospital also received the IHOMP-Satisfactory Rating Award, a testament to its adherence to national healthcare standards and its successful implementation of effective management practices. Additionally, LUMC was honored with the Special Award for People-Centered Activity Implementer, which acknowledges its consistent focus on addressing the needs and well-being of patients and stakeholders.
Further emphasizing its dedication to environmental sustainability, LUMC was presented with a Certificate of Participation in the Green Viability Assessment Tool Validation, which reflects its integration of eco-friendly practices into hospital operations.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David commended LUMC’s remarkable achievements, particularly its alignment with the La Union PROBINSIYANihan advocacy. She praised the hospital’s employees for delivering top-notch healthcare services that ensure the health and safety of its patients.
Dr. Glenn Ernest M. Fonbuena, Chief Executive Officer of LUMC, expressed his gratitude for the recognition.
