Naguilian District Hospital (NDH) has successfully concluded its second and third rounds of Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid (BLS-SFA) training, equipping a total of 63 staff members with essential emergency response skills. These sessions, held from November 5 to 8 and November 26 to 29, 2024, followed the first batch of training conducted in October 2024, which trained an additional 23 participants.
The training covered CPR, Automated External Defibrillator usage, wound care, and other vital first-aid procedures. Through hands-on exercises and simulated scenarios, NDH personnel, including nurses and administrative staff, gained the confidence and skills needed to respond effectively to emergencies.
The training was made possible with the active La Union PROBINSYAnihan of local sponsors, including JCI Naguilian Basi, the Dialysis Center, Ms. Geraldine Garcia, Dr. Sherwin Dela Cruz, Dr. Diana Jean C. Escalo, Dr. Cherrymae Belarmino, Jefrey G. Cacabilos, Joey Dizon, Glenn Vergara, and NDH employees, who provided prizes, meals, and snacks for the participants.
Supported by Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, the training contributes to La Union's #AlertoKAPROBINSYAnihan campaign, which aims to enhance local disaster preparedness and healthcare readiness. With the completion of BLS-SFA Training for their medical and non-medical staff, NDH is steadily advancing its commitment to patient safety and emergency preparedness, ensuring a resilient healthcare environment for the community.
