In fulfillment of its commitment to creating hundreds of job opportunities, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in partnership with SM Supermarket, supervised SM Supermaket’s Local Recruitment Activity (LRA) on July 18, 2024, at the Mabanag Building, General Luna St., Barangay II, City of San Fernando, La Union.

This activity was made possible due to SM’s courtesy call with Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David on May 15, 2024, signifying their intention to incorporate KaPROBINSYAnihan and LUcal MSMEs into their workforce, followed by a dialogue along with PESO a week after to confirm its implementation.

SM Supermarket Supervisor Mariella Naomi D. Orpilla interviewed and assessed 81 jobseekers from the pool of 283 jobseekers who accomplished the link for the LRA pre-registration. Qualified applicants will be contacted for a second interview for further assessment before being hired by the organization.

Job positions offered were merchandising assistant, accounting assistant, treasury assistant, HR assistant, customer assistant, SCO assistant, cashier, bagger, and clerk.

With the PGLU’s dedication to consistently providing employment opportunities to job-seekers, all KaPROBINSYAnihan can be assured that the local government will consistently lobby for the alleviation of La Union’s unemployment rate to drive continuous economic growth.
