7 LU Learners Triumph at Nat'l Math, Science Tilt

After undergoing a rigorous training, seven students from the different schools in the province have exemplified excellence as they clinched awards in the International Mathematics Olympiad Competition of Southeast Asia (IMOCSEA) and International Science Olympiad Competition of Southeast Asia (ISOCSEA) held on September 3, 2023.
Demonstrating proficiency in Math and Science, Grade 11 student Ian Chris Semillano from the Regional Science High School in Bangar, La Union garnered a silver medal while Grade 11 learner Fiona Eunice Gatchalian of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-Mid La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC) Laboratory High School earned a bronze medal in IMOCSEA. On the other hand, Mia Gwyneth Agonos of the DMMMSU-MLUC Laboratory High School also won a bronze medal in ISOCSEA. Grade 10 student Franchez Danielle Dollentas and Grade 8 student Precious Lorraine Ocon from the San Fernando South Central Integrated School bagged a bronze medal and the Honorable Mention title respectively in ISOCSEA. Calvin Joss Maderazo and Dawn Misha Raceles from San Agustin Elementary School both obtained a bronze medal in the IMOCSEA.
The winners are now qualified and will be representing the province and the Philippines in the International round in Malaysia on December 26-30, 2023.
