1st District of La Union Representative Hon. Pablo C. Ortega and Municipality of Balaoan Vice Mayor Hon. Al-fred O. Concepcion, deliver their inspirational messages to the 79 GIP Beneficiaries of the 1st District of the Province of La Union on June 1, 2018 at the Municipality of Balaoan, La Union.
La Union’s 79 Government Internship Program (GIP) Beneficiaries coming from the different municipalities of the First District of the province of La Union were welcomed at the Municipality of Balaoan, La Union on June 1, 2018 for their Orientation Program.
In his welcome speech, First District of La Union Representative Hon. Pablo C. Ortega said that through this program, GIP Beneficiaries will be able to sharpen their skills on performing functions relative to public service delivery, gain experience and learns the value of work.
Vice Mayor Hon. Al-fred O. Concepcion encouraged the GIP Beneficiaries to perform well in their work. He extended his sincere gratitude to Department of Labor and Employment - La Union Field Office (DOLE – LUFO) and Cong. Pablo for making this program possible in the First District of La Union. The activity was also participated in by the La Union Public Employment Service Office Managers together with the DOLE – LUFO Chief, Ms. Veronica A. Corsino and Staff.
The 79 GIP Beneficiaries will obtain work in the different municipalities while others will be deployed to the different national government agencies for six months. GIP Beneficiaries are mostly young professionals and fresh college graduates aged 18 to 30 years old.
DOLE - LUFO in partnership with the Office of the Congressional District Representatives of the province and the different LGUs thru their PESOs has been successfully implementing this joint project considering it as one of the employment facilitation program of the government that contributes to the national goal of inclusive growth through massive employment generation and sustainable poverty reduction.
