120 Clients Served as PGLU, Partners Launch Permitting-on-Wheels

In celebration of Philippine Environment Month, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) and the Local Government Unit of San Juan, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau Region 1, launched the Permitting-on-Wheels Program on June 13, 2024, at San Juan, La Union Multi-Purpose Training Center.
Launched during the Coast Watch Summit, and as part of #KalikasanNaman Campaign Caravan, this program aims to provide direct support and assistance to business owners of San Juan and permit holders of sand and gravel quarry operators of La Union in securing various environmental permits, clearances and/or certificates. A total of 120 clients were assisted during the said program.
Technical personnel from DENR-EMB Region 1 provided guidance on processing online applications for permits such as the Environmental Compliance Certificate, Certificate of Non-Coverage, Waste Water Discharge Permit, Permit to Operate for Air Pollution Sources, Hazardous Waste Generator’s ID, Pollution Control Officer Accreditation, Company Registration System, Online Permitting and Monitoring System, and preparation of Compliance Monitoring Reports and Self-Monitoring Reports. Beach safety procedures and information on the Marine Protected Area in San Juan were also presented.
Gov. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David, in a message delivered by her Executive Assistant Eleazar Belgica, highlighted the importance of securing environmental permits to sustain environmental protection.
“We recognize that despite po our busy schedules in our various industries, importante at required pa rin po ang pag acquire natin sa ating mga environmental permits para masiguro ang kaligtasan ninyo at ng ating kalikasan,” Gov. Rafy’s message.
Highlighting the importance of #LaUnionProbinsyanihan in driving environmental stewardship, the PGLU remains steadfast in its thrust to provide services and programs that foster environmental accountability among kaPROBINSYAnihan.
