Align with the goal of the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) to provide better programs and services to the constituents through improved productivity of employees, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) collaborated with the Provincial Information Office (PIO) in the conduct of a two-day capacity building and enhancement training among SP personnel dubbed as Computer Literacy Enhancement Training on October 26-27, 2022 at SP Building, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The said training aims not just to enhance the capacity but most especially to equip SP personnel with a new skill set and knowledge on Information Technology which could be used to increase efficiency not only in producing report presentations but also in social media postings intended to inform the public of the workings of the legislations of the province.
On the first day of training, the participants learned the basics and vital concepts of Mobile Photography. PIO Social Media Manager Ms. Maria Gracia A. Revilla expounded on the rules and standards of taking photos using mobile phones and making them suitable for social media posts.
General principles on basic lay-outing using Canva was discussed by Ms. Shairalene B. Guerrero, Information Officer, during the second day of training. After exploring Canva, Ms. Guerrero talked thoroughly on the elements, designs, and concepts to be considered for social media posts. Each participant tried lay-outing a simple social media card which was reviewed by the body.
Provincial Secretary Dr. Donato A. Rimando and the rest of the SP staff were very grateful for the learnings shared by the PIO, as this is their expertise on the field being the information arm of the province, which in turn, the participants of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan could be used throughout their career-life and likewise for their professional growth and development.
The SP affirm its commitment to be active in taking part in #LaUnionPROBINSYAnihan by assuring that the staff are dedicated, competent, and committed in taking the necessary and vital steps towards the realization of the vision of the Province to be the Heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025.
