In view of Womenโs Month, today, March 28, 2022, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) celebrates and pays tribute to the strong, smart, capable, beautiful, and empowered Juanas or the women employees who provide best government services to kaprobinsiaan amidst their personal battles and circumstances.
Spearheaded by the Provincial Health Office (PHO), this yearโs Womenโs Month is celebrated with the theme โMusika para kay Empleyadong Juanaโ. The PGLU has prepared a whole day pampering event for the Juana employees at the PGLU PHO-PSWD Ground, City of San Fernando, La Union.
After the Zumba dance workout, the Juanas were able to avail free services such as OB Gynecologist Consultation and Pap Smear, Pre-Counselling with HIV Screening, Dental Services, Laboratory Testing, body massage, hair-cut, manicure and pedicure. The female employees were also being serenaded by a live performer so they could enjoy more their free treat. Hygiene kits, roses and snacks were distributed to all service availees as tokens.
Through a message delivered by Provincial Administrator Agnes Grace Cargamento, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โPacoyโ R. Ortega III acknowledged the roles, efforts and outstanding positive attitudes of women employees that has contributed in building a better province.
โMy dearest empowered women colleagues in the government service, I would like to commend all of you for remaining persistent, determined and selfless amidst the challenges of the CoViD-19 pandemic. Pinatunayan ninyo na walang pinipiling kasarian at edad ang kagustuhang tumulong at mag-ambag para sa ikabubuti ng ating mahal na probinsya. Women like you have a special role in building a Stronger La Union.โ
This yearโs womenโs month activity is inclusive for all genders to show that PGLU continues to uphold the welfare, equality and empowerment not only for women, but for all.
The PGLU encourages all kaprobinsiaan to honor all women, of all genders and backgrounds, for their amazing contributions to the history and culture of the province through recognizing their skill, accomplishments, leadership, courage, and strength. All of these contribute in building a Stronger La Union, a province worth living in.
