Honoring their hard-work, passion and strong commitment to their work, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) hailed exceptional teachers of La Union during the awarding ceremony of the โSearch for Outstanding Teachers in the Provinceโ held on October 13, 2022 at Vista La Vita, San Vicente, City of San Fernando, La Union.
The said activity is in line with the Celebration of the World Teacherโs Day and to recognize teachers who have exemplary achievements with great impact on the lives of the people in the field of teaching. The Search for Outstanding Teachers in the Province is divided in to different categories namely Ten Outstanding Public-School Teachers (TOPubSTLU); Ten Outstanding Private School Teachers (TOPrivSTLU); and Most Outstanding Alternative System Teachers (MOALSTU).
The 2022 awardees under the TOPubSTLU category include Mr. Felipe P. Maglaya, of Paringao Elementary School; Ms. Shiela M. Posadas, of Rosario Integrated School; Mr. Alvin T. Panelo, of Tubao Central School; Ms. Cherry G. Romero, of Sto. Rosario Elementary School; Ms. Mary Grace T. Guinomma, of Lacong Elementary School (Annex); Ms. Rizalyn P. Hidalgo, of Catbangen Elementary School; Mr. Moises M. Lopez III, of President Elpidio Quirino National High School (NHS); Ms. Cleofe M. Lacbao, of Don Eulogio De Guzman Memorial NHS; Ms. Rhoda C. Chan, of Lingsat Integrated School; and Ms. Anna Lissa R. Patacsil, of Tanglag NHS.
Meanwhile, Ms. Grace A. Holt and Ms. Leonora C. Dulay of Brain and Heart Educational Institution INC. are the awardees for the TOPrivSTLU category while Ms. Christina M. Rodriguez of Sevilla Community Learning Center was selected for the MOALSTU category.
The awardees were assessed according to their topmost outstanding performances, achievements, and contributions to the Education Sector. They all received a plaque of recognition, tokens, certificate, and cash incentive amounting to 10,000 each from the PGLU
Governor Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David extended her heartfelt congratulations to the awardees through a virtual-message greeting. โCongratulations po! Ipinagmamalaki po kayo ng buong Provincial Government of La Union. Mabuhay po kayo! Alam ko po na kayo ang mga karapat-dapat na tumanggap ng gantimpalang ito bilang kapalit ng inyong galing at dedikasyon sa pagtuturo. Sanaโy patuloy po kayong maging inspirasyon sa kapwa nyo mga guro, mga estudyante at pati na rin sa ating mga kaprobinsyaan na makisama sa La Union Probinsyanihan.โ the Governor said. She also expressed her high hopes that the teachers will help the Provincial Government in teaching our kaprobinsiaan and strengthen the education sector in our province.
Vice-Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega concluded the event by delivering his closing remarks. โโฆIt is but fitting nga maiyawat ko iti pammigbig ken pammadayaw kadakayo apo nga teachers for the reason that being a teacher is not a profession but to me, it is a passion. Also, present during the awarding ceremony were Board Member Cynthia Angelica M. Bacurnay, Chairperson of the Committee on Education and Culture, who presented the overview of the award; Hon. Henry B. Balbin; Hon. Ruperto A. Rillera, Jr.; Hon. Victor I. Rivera; Hon. Maria Rosario Eufrosina P. Nisce; Hon. Jennifer C. Mosuela-Fernandez; Hon. Alyssa Kristine B. Sibuma; Hon. Gerard G. Ostrea; Atty. Donato D. Balderas, Jr., Schools Division Superintendent, DEPED - La Union Schools Division Office; Dr. Rowena C. Banzon, Schools Division Superintendent, DEPED - Schools Division of San Fernando City; Education Supervisors/Evaluators; Principals, District Supervisors; and their respective families to support and celebrate this significant event of their lives.
