With the aim to maintain and ensure the peace and order in the province, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) Security Services Personnel are undergone series of rigorous training from September to November 2022. This is following the directive of the honorable governor Raphaelle Veronica โRafyโ Ortega-David to provide the highest quality of service to our Kaprobinsiaan as she emphasized her call for #LaUnionKaprobinsyanihan.
The series of Armed and Unarmed Self Defense with Basic Personal Protection Training, reinforced the discipline of the PGLU Security Guards in handling security issues without using arms or violence. Further, the Basic Personal Protection familiarized them with the rudimentary rules of personal (Executive) protection.
The aforesaid trainings, which culminated on November 24, 2022 were subsequent to their Reception Security Training held last September which aims to further enhance the Security Guardsโ integration and character transformation. This learning opportunity also prevents injuries and medical emergencies in their respective areas of responsibility.
Being the protectors of the administrative seat of the provincial government and as multiplier force of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the PGLU security guards are expected to exceed the security service standards and maintain the peace and order, security and safety in their Areas of Responsibility , thus, the conduct of the aforesaid trainings.
The PGLU Security Services personnel are also Basic Medical First Responders, competent in First Aid/Basic Life Support and Basic Firefighting, which improves safety effectiveness ensuring that PGLU visitors have a safe visit in all its offices and facilities.
