As part of the smooth governance transition for the year 2022, the Provincial Government of La Union and the La Union Medical Center (LUMC) continue to plan strategies to sustain the development of its medical services and its employeeโ€™s welfare to better serve the constituents of the Province.

Gov. Francisco Emmanuel โ€œPacoyโ€ R. Ortega III, being the chairman of the board, convened the board of trustees in a meeting held at the Dr. Eufranio Eriguel Memorial Hall in LUMC on June 20, 2022, attended by some Provincial Officials, PGLU Department Heads who are members of the board and LUMC staff to discuss the upcoming plans and development in the said hospital during the seat of the new administration.

Among the agenda discussed focused on LUMC employeesโ€™ compensation and benefits, renewal of contracts and appointment of LUMC staff, supply of medical resources and facilities, presentation of financial and performance report and other matters concerning the operation of the hospital. The meeting aims to ensure LUMC's quality and efficient delivery of medical services to every Kaprobinsiaan being one of the top priorities of the Provincial Government.

Incoming La Union Governor Raphaelle Veronica "Rafy" Ortega-David paid a visit to LUMC employees and attended the meeting to familiarize the operations of the institution prior to assumption to duty. Also present during the meeting were LUMC CEO Dr. Glenn Ernest Fonbuena; Vice Gov. Mario Eduardo Ortega; Incoming First District Congressman Francisco Paolo Ortega V; Outgoing Second District Board Member Christian Rivera; Outgoing First District Board Member Jonathan Justo Orros; Provincial Health Officer Dr. Eduardo Posadas; Provincial Accountant Atty. Albert Padilla; Provincial Budget Officer Catherine Franco; and Provincial Treasurer Janet Molina.

Gov. Pacoy received a certificate of appreciation from the hospital's management in recognition for his exceptional leadership as chairman of the board and for his unwavering support to the projects of LUMC.

In line with transformative governance, the Provincial Government of La Union assured its continuous support to LUMC towards a more responsive, accessible and developed healthcare system in order to uplift the standard of living for the people of the province which is integral in achieving a #StrongerLaUnion, a province worth living in.
