As an advocate of Reproductive and Environmental Health, Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) Junior Member and La Union Chapter Member Representative Dr. Cherrymae B. Belarmino of the Naguilian District Hospital (NDH), spearheaded a tree planting activity dubbed as โPlant a Tree for the Unbornโ on June 20, 2022.
Dr. Belarmino and some of the NDH staff planted seedlings at the backyard of the hospital with the hope to lessen the sorrow of the mothers who lost their babies while nurturing mother nature.
โThe unborn babies shall be remembered through these plants and the supposed-to-be-names of the unborn babies were tagged in them leaving a legacy to the community,โ said Dr. Belarmino.
Five rambutan seedlings and 5 dwarf calamansi seedlings were planted through the said activity.
The NDH sympathizes with the familiesโ loss and continues to do such activity to help and support them as they cope and move on with their lives.
