Twenty-seven students from the province of La Union showcased their creativity and care for the environment by taking part in the Infographics Making Contest initiated by the Provincial Government โ Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) last June 2022. The infographics making contest, which is part of the month-long celebration of the Philippine Environment Month, is focused on the importance of air quality management in the Philippines.
The top three student-digital graphic designers are from Saint Louis College (SLC) namely Dexter Pimentel, Robert Ian Dichosa, and Janexx Redd Dio. John Allen Catbagan and Dennis Loren Tacubanza from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University - Mid La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC) bagged 4th and 5th place, respectively. Lousian students Gerick Reyes and Renz Hermosura were the winners for the 6th and 7th place. Raena Mae Nanali of DMMMSU-MLUC won 8th place while Nathalie Corpuz from San Luis National High School in Pugo, La Union was the 9th placer. Francis Ervic Andrada of DMMMSU-MLUC was awarded the 10th place.
Aside from the prizes they received, the winnersโ digital artworks will be used as Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials for the future environmental programs of the Provincial Government of La Union in support of the #KalikasanNaman campaign and #LaUnionProbinsyanihan as a response to call for unity and solidarity in protecting the environment and in building #StrongerLaUnion, a province worth living.
